What an about-us film covers
An about-us film answers the questions a visitor has before they call: who are these people, what do they do all day, and do they care. It usually mixes short interviews with several team members and footage of the work itself, so the viewer sees the company rather than hearing a description of it.
How we keep it from being a list
The trap with company films is a sequence of people each saying something nice. We avoid it by picking one thread, such as a project from start to finish, a single day, or a question everyone answered, and hanging the interviews on it. Each voice then adds something the last one didn't.
For nonprofits
Nonprofit films often need to show the people served without exposing them. We can keep faces out of frame, use voices only, or blur where needed, and we follow whatever consent rules your organization uses.
Length and versions
- A main film of one and a half to three minutes.
- A 30-second version for the top of the homepage.
- Captioned clips for social channels.
Questions
We have footage from several years. Can you use it?
Yes. Older footage can be matched in color and size so it sits next to new interviews.
Can staff review the cut?
Yes. Share the review link with anyone who needs to approve their part.
