Process

How a story edit works

The story is agreed on paper before we cut, so the first edit is already close.

1. Brief and quote

You send the footage link and a few lines about the people and where the film will run. We check the material and send a written quote with scope, revision rounds and a delivery date. Nothing starts until you accept it.

2. Transcript and outline

We transcribe the interviews, mark the lines that carry the story, and send a one-page outline: the beats, in order, with the quotes we plan to use. Changing an outline takes minutes; changing a finished cut takes hours, so this is the step that saves the most time.

3. First cut

We cut picture and sound to the outline, add b-roll and temporary music, and send a review link where you can leave notes at exact moments.

4. Finish and deliver

After your notes we finish the color, sound mix, captions and titles, and export the main film plus any cut-downs you ordered.

Your footage

Interviews and footage are used only for your project. If part of the work goes to a production partner, they work under a confidentiality agreement. See the privacy policy.
